production method | p-aminobenzoic acid is produced by diazotization and substitution. P-carbamic acid and sulfuric acid were added to the reactor, and sodium nitrite was added to diazotization below 10 °c. The potassium iodide solution was slowly added with stirring. After addition, the reaction solution was heated until the red color was removed. It was then cooled, filtered and washed with water to give a crude product. The finished product is obtained by recrystallization from acid-base and ethanol. |
